The AHI PPS is hosting a “Dinner and Learn” event, Improving Communications with Patients Through Cultural Competency and Health Literacy Best Practices, from 6:00 — 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Longfellow’s Conference Center in Saratoga Springs.
Trainers Jennifer Manganello, PhD, MPH, and Greg Owens, LMSW, will provide strategies and tools to improve communication and understanding between the provider and patient.
The target audience for the event is physicians and content will focus on:
- Identifying strategies and opportunities for incorporating health literate practices into daily interactions with patients.
- Recognizing the potential benefits to all stakeholders of embedding National CLAS Standards into the practice framework.
- Understanding the importance of culturally- and linguistically-appropriate services that address the issues of health disparities at a leadership level.
Dinner will be provided.
