AHI Receives Grant for Health Insurance Enrollment Assistance Outreach Efforts

Our Enrollment Assistance Services and Education (EASE) program has received a $10,000 Ambassadors for Coverage Grant from Empire Justice Center (EJC) to promote its free health insurance enrollment assistance and education services. This is the second year we have received EJC funding, following a $6,500 grant award in 2014.

“We’re grateful to EJC for this opportunity. By awarding us grant funding for a second consecutive year, they are recognizing our continued success in assisting our community members in enrolling in an affordable health insurance plan,” stated Joyce Porter, EASE Manager. According to Porter, funding will be used primarily to increase outreach efforts in the program’s seven-county service region – Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington. “We’ll be able to effectively spread the word in previously hard-to-reach populations,” said Porter. “For instance, we plan to increase participation in health fairs and community gatherings, using grant money for event registration. We also plan to educate constituents with information on the New York State of Health Marketplace’s insurance enrollment process and our free assistance services via mailings.”

The EASE program assists individuals and families without health coverage, as well as those looking to maintain or change coverage. To schedule a free appointment with an EASE enrollment specialist, call 866.872.3740 or submit an online appointment request.

The EJC grant funding period is October 1, 2015—September 30, 2016.
